Jim Messina at the Lobero Theatre
Santa Barbara, CA
May 12, 2026
Jim Messina may be 78 years old, but this was Ronnie’s response to hearing him perform: “This was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. A really tight, amazing band. Jim – voice-wise and everything – was ‘right there.’ I was really, really pleased and thrilled.”
Strange Days at the SOhO
Santa Barbara, CA
May 1, 2026
Strange Days, a tribute band to The Doors, put on a show-stopping performance. Jason Tosta embodies Jim Morrison better than anyone Ronnie’s ever heard before. Forrest Penner is Robby Krieger’s current guitar tech and when Krieger was ill back in 2011, Penner took the stage with Ray Manzarek for 7 shows. He continues his tribute to Robby with Strange Days. Alexis Angel impressively reproduces Manzarek’s sound and Dave Madden has been praised by Doors drummer John Densmore for the level of detail he brings to every Strange Days performance.
Ronnie was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed Strange Days’ tribute, saying their impressions were beyond compare.

Whisky a Go Go, Sunset Strip, Hollywood, CA
April 29, 2026
Robby Krieger, guitarist for The Doors, recreated the playlist from when The Doors played at the London Fog, located just up the street from the Whisky.
Robby invited Ronnie onstage to share the story of how she came to visit the London Fog with friend Peter Asher (of the duo Peter and Gordon). They heard several songs and when they left Ronnie says Peter hated them. She remembers turning to him and sayiing, “I just found the American Rolling Stones.”
